The Nova Challenge runs Tuesday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 19.
The Nova Challenge is a four-day giving challenge and friendly competition between Villanovans from various regions throughout the Nova Nation. Your gift goes directly to your local Villanova Club!
You can participate by making a gift through this campaign and choosing your Regional Club as the designation. New in 2021, Regional Clubs will be grouped into regional teams—and each team will work together to reach a collective goal that unlocks a challenge gift!
What Does the Nova Challenge Support?
Your gift to the Nova Challenge will support the experiences and activities Regional Clubs bring to Villanovans in their local communities. Some Regional Clubs also sponsor scholarships for students in their area, broadening access to need-based aid in the pursuit of a Villanova education. Your support means that Villanova Regional Clubs can continue to offer:

- Service Opportunities
- Volunteer Recognition
- Game Watches
- Cultural Events
- Local Student Scholarships
Your Gift Goes Further
For Nova Challenge 2021, Regional Clubs are grouped into teams and will work together to unlock a regional challenge gift in support of Villanova. Each regional team challenge will be unlocked based on the number of Clubs that reach 100% of their individual dollar goals, and each region will have its own group goal.
The six regions are Far West, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest/Texas, New England and International, Southeast and Tri-State. See the Regional Teams section for an update on your region's progress.
Nova Challenge Impact
Your gift makes more of the above possible in your region and throughout the Nova Nation! Here are just a few examples of your impact from past participation in the Nova Challenge:
- The Nova Challenge has raised more than $260,000 in support in four years.
- More than 30 Regional Clubs have used Nova Challenge funds to host game watches, networking or service events in their local areas—and innovative virtual events!
- 21 Regional Club scholarships were awarded to Villanova students during the 2020-2021 academic year.
Alumni and parent support provides valuable resources at the core of the Villanova experience. For alumni in particular, your participation helps Villanova stand out among other national universities. By joining the Nova Challenge, you are helping Villanova on a local and global scale!
THANK YOU to the more than 1,000 donors who supported the 2021 Nova Challenge! Through your generosity, we raised over $129,000 for Villanova Regional Clubs AND unlocked $725,000 in regional challenges. We are especially grateful for those who came together for our Regional Clubs in Texas amid the impact of last week’s severe weather.
As a sign of our gratitude, we created custom Zoom backgrounds featuring each Club’s logo. Show your Villanova pride and represent your local Club by downloading the background of your choice!
You can support your Regional Club at any time with a gift through our secure giving site. Any gifts made to the Clubs of Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston by this Friday, February 26 will count toward the 2021 Nova Challenge.

Regional Clubs provide a connection to Villanova wherever you are in the Nova Nation, and you can help fuel the Club experiences that bring Villanovans together in your area. It was such a fun way to celebrate the launch of the Nova Challenge and bring Wildcats from across the Nova Nation together.
